Lake Pleasant, is it really so pleasant?

After leaving Phoenix, Arizona, Jay and I headed out to Lake Pleasant where we hoped to take out our new inflatable paddle boards and get back into nature. We paid for a partial hook up site at Lake Pleasant Campground, so we had power and water allowing us to consistently use the AC (since our AC is too strong for our solar).

We knew it was going to be hot, but I don't think we actually realized hot brutal 110 degrees in the desert is. It was brutal. And everyone talks about the dry heat but all the dry heat did was dry out my skin and make my contacts stick to my eyeballs.
Despite our crankiness at the heat, the lake was gorgeous. The water was clear and cool and so refreshing to jump in after work and paddle out to the marina where the bar hosted trivia, live music and had surprisingly great fried pickles.

Sammie came out on the paddle boards with us and was a littttle apprehensive at first but grew more comfortable the more we stayed out. We got her the cutest life vest which helps her feel more at ease in the water.

One of our last days at Lake Pleasant, we drove to Scorpion Bay where we drove our Jeep right onto the beach and posted up for the day. There were SO many people out that there you were pretty much shoulder to should with the group next to you, so you had better hope you have the same taste in music as your neighbor. It was so nice to spend our last day there out on the lake with the paddle boards outside!
